Tom van der Have creates objects, sculptures, conceptual / sculptural furniture and design. As a craftsman he uses techniques like woodcarving, gilding and joinery.
Mostly working with natural materials such as wood, gold and stone, his detailed works are a hommage to nature’s unparalleled beauty and creativity. He observes our planets geological landscape with it’s sculptures, created by nature’s brutal forces and studies the religious or spiritual effect this has on cultures from past and present. With his work he tries to make people reflect and reconsider our society’s relationship with nature. Our lnature.You can call it exotism.
